its a styalised film, I like how the colors are all crushed. Its a different look, rather than the whole cheesecloth or whatever glow effect for making all the lovely aging starlets look younger. Whats wrong with a different approach every now and then?

I was quite disappointed, nobody looked natural.
I liked the acting- it was excellent, storyline could have been improved. but i really think they went overboard with the effects. was anything even real in this movie? i mean even the actors looked plastic.

Essentially everything was digital, bar the actors and a few of the props (i.e. Xerxes throne and the ground). And other stuff was minatures (i.e the tree with all the bodies of the villagers pinned 2 it). But i mean that was part of the appeal, special fx overload.

Here's a production photos give u an idea (i couldnt find the one i wanted 2);

You can give your opinion - just as long as it conforms to everyone else's!

Of course, I'm kidding. I see no reason to apologize.

Damned good movie.

i mean, historically speaking it was a travesty ( you know its based on an actual battle right? ) even if it is based of a graphic novel... the only thing accurate is the spartans attire, armour and the way the Phalanx (pro. Phalanges) formation. Otherwise it was complete tripe historically.

The Visual Effects were spectacular... though the constant noise layer really started to annoy me after an hour or two.

er... yeah.. not much else.

From an artistic perspective this movies a gem, i love the contrasty comic book feel. It was a true action classic. I saw it back home with my mates, we felt so manly walking out of the cinema. Then i saw myself in a window, kinda killed the mood.

Watching it in our cottage at the moment, this time less in awe of the movie and watching from more of a visual effects stand-point... The wolf was a big let-down in my eyes... It didn't have the realistic feel most of the rest of the movie retained. The movie deisgn; the comic book feel with very strong sepia tones throughout worked perfectly. The battle scenes with the mix of slow-motion camera movements and what not add to this effect, though some of the stabbings weren't entirely realistic in terms of how the body would react (more spurting blood rather than delicate drops flying off on certain stabbings)... Anyhow it's still an amazing movie to me!

More feedback coming soon...
