FEAST your eyes on this beast
« on: May 23, 2007, 10:23:08 PM »
I read reviews about this full case being larger than description. Even after knowing the dimentions it still antonished me when it arrived today.

I am building a pc from stracth and first stop is the case. After some research i decided on the Lian Li pc-201, which is all aluminium. After i pay that off (in 3 weeks) i have to decide whether to build a gaming pc or workstation.

Either way, here is the behemoth in my room.

As you can see here, i have a gamecube on the second shelf of a bookshelf as reference.
And also the Animators Hand book plus a bin standing next to it.

 :o :o :o :o

Hehe, all games I own and enjoy (long live the Gamecube... albeit on the Wii).
Anyway, my eyes have been feasting upon that case ravishingly, and I'm still amazed at its size. I thought my case was big, but God-dammit! How many DVD slots does it have?
Can you give us a front and side perspective shot of it as well, just out of curiosity?
Just in case people were wondering, it stands for 'At The Convenience Of The Experimenter.'

And now... this!

Hate to interrupt the flow of Nintendo Gamecube worship, but my god is that case gigantic! Are those little details on the top of the case buttons and LEDs? (Eledees!)

OK OK, i'll give shots of front and side.

But right now i can tell you that it has room for:

12 HDD's
7DVD drives
2 power supplies
ATX or even an E-Atx board
room for 2 graphics cards.

Oh and those things on the top are usb/firewire ports

... Dear God.
Okay, that, that right there? That's NOT a student case. That's not even a professional case. That's the case that almighty God sits down at his computer, inbetween being sent emails asking 'How do you type with boxing gloves on?' and LUSTS after being able to utilize!
How much of that room do you plan to take advantage of? Please post your computer specs up here when you make it (and now's the point you BELIEVE in the advantages of a custom job...).

looks more suited of being a beastly server/workstation case to me. and i thought my case was big. bugger me you should put 2 computers in that thing. hope you picked it up cheap, $400 the cheapest i'm seeing it. OUCH! please tell me it has a at least a 400watt power supply. then again, all other decent branded cases cost this much. i wouldn't like to lug it around to lans though.

but i guess you can use this case in the future if you decide to got all out on a workstation.

Coolermaster Ammo 533
Coolermaster Praetorian 732
Antec Atlas

then again these cases are just cheaper alternatives.

this is what i have

Well yea, it is a lifetime investment, the way i see it, if i ever need to upgrade my pc, i will always keep this case.
It's the rolls royce of cases. I can go with 2 power supplies in this, and am thinking it may be a better option to have two lower power supplies and link them together because the heat dispersion may be less that say, one 1000watt psu.
