Um, I'm a big fan of Startovarius, Dragonforce and Rhapsody of Fire, and my fave solo signer is Meatloaf, but besides that this is too big of a question for me...

Sure they've only made one album (currently working on another), and sure they're made up of the vocalist from one group and the vocalist of another... but The Postal Service are a great band. Great music to be had. Examples include: Such Great Heights, Nothing Better, and Brand New Colony.

Björk, Relient K, Imogen Heap, Weezer and Death Cab are a few other favourites of mine among many others.

I actually don't have one absolute favourite.

I dont play faves with music. Im prty much up 4 anythin... Except rap. Never rap.

But yeh.. a few bands that comes to mind tho are Aerosmith, 36 Crazyfists, In Flames, Alice in Chains, Deftones, Transplants, Lostprophets, Soilworks, Killswitch Engage, Godsmack, Pelican, Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine... and so on and so forth.

Agree with the anything but rap sentiment...

Seems my music taste is a little more relaxed than most of yours...
I love good acoustic rock and just generally decent rock; but nothing too heavy...
Think REM, 3 Doors Down, Grinspoon, Nickelback, Coldplay...
Kinda main-stream but it's what I likes!!
And of course, I like aplonea... If anyone here buys their album, they get a free aplonea sticker (just yell at me!!)... Sorry, had to advertise my mates' band... :D

nothing wrong with rap either...  as long as its done right that is.  bitches, bling, and guns (the parts im assuming people may have a problem with) are only a small part of what 'rap' really is.  maybe you were refering to rnb/mad ass gangsta hip hop?

i have a hard time believing someone is truly a music lover when they pigeonhole themselves from entire genres.

RnB/gangsta hip-hop is not enjoyable music...
On the subject of rap, Eminem's 'Stan' is a really great piece and the video is awesome too...

I like alot of things, I will object to nearly nothing... except Rap and R&B.

Preferences include Matchbox Twenty, Coldplay, U2, the Corrs, Bruce Hornsby, Sister Hazel... and anything - anything - classical. Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro" is definitely one of my favourite overtures.

Yes, yes. I know. My taste ends at the year 2000.

Oh, and recently, I must say I'm utterly impressed by the Johnny Cash cover of NIN's "Hurt".

rap isnt music! its just a beat and a horny black guy.

What i like is mainly metal, a little bit of rock and other random stuff from various places.
Ill Nino would have to be my favourite band. I've always loved Creed, but their final album was crap, im talking about old school creed. My Own Prison etc.
