MAC or PC poll, actual forum poll this time!
« on: May 03, 2007, 08:55:42 PM »
This poll will just go for the entirety of the forum.  It'll be interesting to see in a year what the percentages are.

At the moment it seems like a one-horse race (how ironic with today being the day of the Gold Cup!!! HEHEHE!)...
PCs are 4-0 up on Macs, with no sign of any sort of comeback so far... :D

Either Damian or Scott, methinks. It'll be on one or two for a long time to come.

PC gets my vote too, though I'd like to justify it.

Basically, a PC comes with as many alterations as you would like. Besides the obvious advantage of having a DEFAULT mouse with two (gasp, two!) buttons on it, you can get into it, change the bios, create your own code, and not actually lose anything (meanwhile with a mac if something is lost, it's gone).
I suppose Macs are more useful for simpler things, or when you just want to get on with your work and do it how the developers said, meanwhile, PC is more or less a playground. Albiet, an expensive one.
Also, I don't trust anything costing over $2000 and being named after a fruit.
Just in case people were wondering, it stands for 'At The Convenience Of The Experimenter.'

Also a great YouTube video on mac annoyances:

Now I have an amount of empathy for this guy; my father owned an iMac that he got back in around 2001, and it ran Mac OS 9.9.0.2 (I remember the version from all the times I had to look up troubleshooting for it), and the problems with that OS turned me off the system for years to come.
However, now I remain unbias to the two; I'm happy to work with either, and while I own and enjoy (well, most of the time) a PC, I'm also interested in branching into Mac territory, laptop wise.
Still, I sense an incredible amount of danger in saying this in this forum, so I'll just come to the workshop with a sheet of lead tomorrow, shall I? :P
