I can't test cause i've not got maya on this computer. But I'm pretty sure if you ungroup the torus and the cube, make sure that the face of the cube is filled and then play around with a tool called boolean... I think. F1 it if you can't find it in the menus, might have a bit more info about it to.

My name is Libby and I'm a forum addict.
It has been 12 days since my last post... I haven't had the internet :'(
I do believe I have introduced myself to everybody a number of times, but incase you missed it, I am the course's only 1.5th year student.
I started at CSU doing primary ed then crossed over half way through last year and haven't looked back.
My passion is rigging. Its freaking awesome. I might like 2d too, but like many of you haven't done a whole lot yet.
I love rigging.
I also like helping people, cause the more I help the more I can procrastinate ::) So if your struggling with anything animation or otherwise give me a bell, i'll be more than happy to help.

Haha, your computer sounds like an almost exact replica of mine!
Except that I use a different keyboard and mouse and have upgraded ram, and dont have an evil operating system. And those little awesome differences that mean mines better  :P

Why don't they start production already? I want to see how they do it and if they manage to do the comics justice.
I mean really, if you want to know what happens in The Lovely Bones you can just read the book, also you know who dies and who the murderer is from the very beggining. Plus a little hint, the good guys always win in Transformers!!!
That said, Tintin always wins too, but he does it with more old school style! And he has a puppy side kick. :)

No-one replied to this? Well now that I'm taking the time to read all these movie threads you can have my 2 cents, aren't you lucky.

Having watched WALL-E once at the movies, and multiple times on dvd I have come to a few conclusions.
  • It was an awesome movie, I loved it!
  • Amazing animation and sound. I love that they were able to convey so much character with so little dialogue and when it comes to WALL-E, as well as most of the other robots, i'd say pretty limited sound effects.
  • It didn't seem to appeal as much to kids. I remember when I was sitting in the cinema the kids watching were completely disengaged and playing games and fighting to pass the time. While I loved it, I think that maybe it ended up being more of an adult/animators animation, rather than a kids one which I kinda liked.
  • I really think the environmental and social 'lessons' flowed with the movie really well, I don't think it would have been the same without them and despite the, as you say, conservatives citicism I enjoyed it.
  • Its an ace animation and now I've gotten all excited about it, I think I might just have enough time to squish in another viewing before heading out for the day, Winner!!!

Yeah, so they're my thoughts, right or wrong.

Wait wait, I like the bit when the captain says: AUTO! Earth is amazing! These are called "farms". Humans who put seeds in the ground pour water on them, and they grow food - like, pizza!  :D

'She? Its a boy, look at its boobies!'
'...We need to have a talk.'

Hehehe :D

Does anybody else get weird Katie (from Horton Hears a Who) flashbacks when watching Insectosaurus?  :-\
