Well, here we were going through some old, blurry production photos of Demi way back in the year two-double-oh-six, looking for the "Quintessential Director" portrait of one Pete Hanshaw... better known as "Jeebuz".

Then the shocking revelation made itself clear when we discovered this...

Here we see figure 1, as a cursory examination reveals the uncanny resemblence between Pete and a young Alec Guinness

Then we do the overlay in Photoshop at about 40% opacity... and - Holy mother of god-

...I really have nothing more to say on this.

Games / Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

This is for any X360 fans and fans of the Playstation's former-flagship Flight Sim series.

The trailer for Ace Combat 6 has been released. For anyone dubious who hasnt played Ace Combat before, these games are not run-of-the-mill flight sims, they are considerably more action-oriented than say... Jane's USAF or Microsoft Flight Simulator ( :P )

I love these games... Usually great stories, excellent game play, and they always nail the soundtracks. This one seems no exception.
I do believe Microsoft just convinced me to buy a 360.

Whinges / Studio closure.

No other place to put this.

Hages, consider this more a question rather a bitch and whinge. But what, exactly, happened to the lab? If indeed it was a "few thoughtless individuals" who were responsible... then the rest of the two animation courses can't be held accountable, and could 'probably' (this is an understatement) use an explanation of what's going on - we've done nothing wrong. We're one week from assessment, and there are a heck of a lot of students who were relying on that studio to render work ahead of the assignments next week.

There is going to be a lot of very unhappy students - and alot of failing grades - if we don't have a lab, or at the very least an explanation why our only facilities have been closed.

*shrugs* to me it looks and feels like the original Starcraft with updates in a 3D engine (clearly). Blizzard is always like that, though. They're not big on cutting edge graphics, they simply prefer to stylize their art (sort of like Team Fortress 2) which, in some cases, I have no problem with. (I detested how far they took this in Warcraft 3) I'm glad they kept the feel of the original, otherwise it wouldn't have been the same.

Hell Yeah.

The trailer is awesome. I think I'll bring it to the dailies on Monday, purely for the sake of coolness. :P

I've seen Greg Martin's work before. His work is unreal, and I wouldn't dare compare my work to his. Aye carumba...

That said; wow, the technique is similar. (Seriously, this I did not notice before.) Although I notice he has a few extra steps than I do and/or alters several steps.

Nice link though.

Give aways were the reflections and/or shadows.

Although the first one was just a damned lack of high resolution textures...

I like alot of things, I will object to nearly nothing... except Rap and R&B.

Preferences include Matchbox Twenty, Coldplay, U2, the Corrs, Bruce Hornsby, Sister Hazel... and anything - anything - classical. Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro" is definitely one of my favourite overtures.

Yes, yes. I know. My taste ends at the year 2000.

Oh, and recently, I must say I'm utterly impressed by the Johnny Cash cover of NIN's "Hurt".

My favourite scene in the film, in fact, one might say the ONLY good scene in the film, was where the Editor of that magazine kept getting the crap scared out of him by the buzzer.

Heck, I only saw it 3 hours ago and already I've forgotten 90% of it.

...Well, my head has. My stomach is still protesting the nauseous cinematography.

Havn't played in a good long while but gotta 3 or 4,000pt High Elf army, somewhere in that margin. I also have a 1,500 Dark Eldar army which I tend to stay away from (dont have any heavy units which means use a tank and i cant win).

Ah... *cannon fodder* *evil grin*

2000 (working on 3000) point Imperial Guard Armoured Company here. Dark Eldar are my favourite form of snack food for the reason you just mentioned.

...Tyranids however. Egads.

Hey, he DID say post your PC! I mean, it's hardly bragging as one's not working anyway.  :P

You know what? If I post just how many games I legitimately own in this thread, Hages will FAIL me in this entire course on principle alone!

But let's just say that lately I've been playing the latest in the long line of venerable games called Command and Conquer - C&C3: Tiberium Wars - and thus far It's been awesome. A return to the roots to be sure.
