Web / ----Web coms----

So yeah.... thought I'd just post up some great web comics that aren't too well known for people to check out, no real reason.... just spreading the love.

---TGSA--- A webcom with no real purpose, just random ideas they come up with. one of the guys involved also made Blastwave!

---Gone with the Blastwave--- Follows around a bunch of soldiers in a post apocalyptic world, funny and a little morbid at times. Really well drawn.

---Perry Bible Fellowship--- Pure gold, no consistent characters again, just random little things.

---A Lesson is Learned but the Damage is irreversable--- My Fav 1 webcomic, funny as hell, great style and at times makes you think before you laugh.

feel free to add to the list...

Movies / 30 Days of Night
« on: November 13, 2007, 09:10:50 PM »

I must admitt I was a little worried that the movie wouldn't turn out well, but after seeing it I hope Templesmith feels he was done Justice.
All I can really say about this film is it made Vampires Awesome again for me.
for the first 20 - 30 mins of the film its non-stop BAM BAM BAM VAMPIRES!! then it slows down a little and starts focusing on survival.
It's been (for me) so far this year the best comic book/graphic novel interpretation since 300.

The good side of it is that they followed Templesmiths colours and idea relatively closely, accept for one or two minor details involving the Vamps.

For those who don't know the story it's basically set in an arctic region where once every while the sun dissapears for 30 days.... this time round sh1t goes down.

anyone else seen it??

My lust for a new, great MMO has been fed by not one but TWO MMOs.

I've mentioned before Age of Conan: Hyborian adventures, which is due out late 07 early 08... =C

But the next big MMO (for me at least) has just slid across my desktop...

Also, Akira Toriyama will over see the project (the origional creater of Dragon Ball)
the only downside to the game is the possibility of it being a Japan/Asia only release.
At the moment though there arn't too many sites advertising the game in english, so not too much info on it atm...

While on the DBZ topic its also been announced that DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 will have an online component =D makes me wanna sell 2 now before it depreciates, it has been announced for Novermber this year in the US.... so prob 2009 for aus X)

Well, I guess this board need to start somwhere...

Anyone with past, present or future games which you found to be enjoyable/looking good just post them up... and if you can define their genre and platform... on the topic of genre anyone know what genre ICO is? 3rd person puzzle/action?

Heres just a small list of games that I found enjoyable for any of you who feel like feeding the inner nerd;

Shadow of the Colossus - PS2
F.E.A.R. - PC - FPS
Dawn of War - PC - RTS
Oblivion - PC, XB360, PS3 - 1st/3rd person RPG
Civilization 1 - PC - Turn Based Strategy (Personal Favorite)
Diablo (1 and 2) - PC - RPG
OKami - PS2 - RPG
Kingdom Hearts - PS2 - RPG
Half-life (Everything 1, 2 and expansions) - PC - FPS (a bit of a fan boy)

I think thats enough for now, and I know most of them are mainstream but for those intersted play away... and i do realise I've stayed away from old school games, I'll rattle off a couple if people show an interest in this thread.

On the up and coming side of things I must say I'm behind a little. There are 3 that have caught my eye;

Quake Wars - PC - FPS ( site requires flash 8 )
Age of Conan - PC - MMORPG
Manhunt 2 - Wii, PS2 - DEATH... DEATH ALL ROUND (getit before its banned)

please add any games to this be it mainstream or obscure.
