DS LAN
« on: May 04, 2007, 11:15:59 PM »
I've been noticing a lot of DS talk on the forum.
So many of you have one.

Maybe a LAN would be a good idea some time.
If we get 16 people then we could have some crazy mad tetris tourny's.
You only need one cartridge.

Anyone interested?

NEW EDIT:
OK EVERY ONE BRING YOUR DS's TO THE LECTURE ON TUESDAY!
GOT THAT?
We'll just see who has them and how much and we can organise a time to have a LAN after a bit of a muck around.

Oh dear God yes! I've been waiting for this ever since I picked this thing up on launch date.
Also, wouldn't it be good if we posted what games we hand, for the sake of avoiding annoyance later?
The games I have that are Wi-Fi enabled are:
Final Fantasy III
Super Mario DS
...
And that's it. Darn, I thought I had more... :(
Just in case people were wondering, it stands for 'At The Convenience Of The Experimenter.'

And now... this!

Only games I've got that are Wi-Fi enabled are:

Mario Kart DS
Tetris DS
Animal Crossing: Wild World (at home)

But I've got a few 'Wireless Multi-Card Play' games as well like Sonic Rush and Children of Mana. I'm really looking forward to Pokemon, but the price for the Aussie release seems fairly unreasonable as usual. :P

And yeah, great idea Keaton. Kudos.

Yeah, Pokemon's always a joy, and now there's no stupid link-cable to worry about!
Isn't it out in late June? It's just that EB have already got posters up... all around the store.
I'm a fan of the series, but that kinda... makes me uncomfortable.

Yeah, it's out late June down here. Already out in the US. You can get both Diamond and Pearl for US$34 each from Amazon if you want, but then the funds go overseas (not that they don't eventually). It works out to be so much cheaper and I was actually tempted to go for it... but no, I'll just wait.

Also, there's an item or something in Pokemon Ranger that allows you to get one of the legendary Pokemon of D/P - only way to obtain it other than cheating or trading. Nintendo were smart and made a damn crossover. And yes, I'm a freak... a Game Freak (HAW HAW HAW!). :-X

It's pretty much a puzzle/adventure, so yeah, it should be categorized as a game. Have you got it Keaton? If so, review!

For anyone interested, the creators of Trauma Center have a new project on their hands: Etrian Odyssey. It's an RPG but with a heavy focus on cartography. It looks amazing to say the least. Check out IGN's preview to read about some of its eccentricities. Plugging is fun.

Heh, the website of the game has a comic on it actually bagging out the game itself! I love a company that can make fun of its hard work... Um, as long as they make a good game too.
Trauma Center is out for the Wii now, isn't it? Or is that a future release? Man, that'd work so well.

EDIT: *Cough* Ahem, I just realized I was totally off topic here; Any developments with the planning of this? Should be just bring our DSes for after the lecture on Tuesday, just for a general muck-around?

Okay.

I've just realised that only four members have posted in this thread. Hopefully there are more DS users out there.

Today i'm going to ask Geoff Gordon if i can use the room tomorrow before our animation screenings to set up a Wii and see if we can use it on the projector. It'll be cool if it's possible.
I'll reply to this after i speak with him, but if anyone wants to come, i'll be there an hour before tomorrows dailies.
