CSU General / Welcome Back People & Welcome 1st Years!
« on: February 23, 2009, 02:13:44 PM »
 ;D Hello All!

This topic is basically to express my rather annoying enthusiasim for this new year! I feel much like a cheery person in the morning... yuck..

As has become tradition over the past couple of years, we all introduce ourselves to the first years nerd style (meaning, on the forum) and then they tell us who they are and where they're from, its all a bunch of fun  ;D

So, I shall go first...

I am Pam also known as "Spam" (im a forum junky! for proof, check my post count).
I'm a 3rd year animation & vfx student! I'm from Dubbo originally but am living off campus in Wagga....
I just turned 21, and no longer have P plates! I'm short and annoying and somewhat antisocial. I like driving, maccas and Anime and would some day love to marry Vegeta  8) (Dragon Ball Z for those who don't know). I talk lots on the forum but am usually pretty quiet in person until you get to know me, or you catch me on a good day! You will most likely see me around, short purple haired nerd *thats me* I basically live in the labs, it really is quite sad  :-\

This course is awesome, and you guys are in for a lot of fun! (a lot of work, but a lot of fun!)

Please don't be intimidated by us, if you need help don't hesitate to ask one of us! We're really quite nice when it's not assessment week  ;D

One last spasm of excitement:
[spasm] zomg!! animation festival is getting closer!! AND I'm a 3rd year! HOW did that happen!!! [/spasm]

We(matt kiah and i) borrowed the portable studio lights to do our photography assignment for the weekend...
We havn't used studio lighting by ourselves before and we're confused!!!!

We are wondering how to connect the flash lights to the camera, because the lead doesn't seem to fit... maybe we're missing a cord?? :-\

Movies / "Zombie Strippers"
« on: May 06, 2008, 08:56:23 PM »
Oh yes, you'd better believe it...there is a movie out there called "Zombie Strippers".
and, to be quiet honest, i loved it! lol.

well, it starts out pretty political... lol it set in "the not too distant future" George Bush wins the vote again, due to some screw up in the american voting this time America is like involved in wars in about 8 different countries. lol.
and due to all the casualties in war, George Bush is looking towards reanimating the corpses to serve as soldiers
Anyway, George Bush brings in this "no more nudity" rule... which means poor americans dont have their porn or their strip clubs anymore

so theres this underground strip club, thats like right near a science lab
the virus spread... but only the males became rabid monster zombies, the females could control it :P

the disease spread and one of the strippers became a zombie....and because she could control it, she wasnt just after brains... ll she wanted to do was dance/strip.
and being a that its a zombie stripper, somehow made it a better performance? and they started making heaps of money out of it.... it started this big competition between all the strippers, and pretty soon they were all zombies.... all but one.. *dramatic music*
in the end there is this awesome naked zombie stripper fight... its loltastic! XD

and of course the military comes along and fixes everything.......or do they?

Prepare yourself for lots of blood, gore and nudity. lol.

Rendering / Fatal Mental Ray Error.... Help me???
« on: April 11, 2008, 05:37:48 PM »
I have tried to render a scene..its a simple hallway with some fluro lights.
the lights are just cylinders with a glow on them...and ive put a point light underneath each one to actually light the scene...
I am making it 6233x3508 pixels and i'm cropping the width down to 4961 later on in 'post'.

When i render it renders the picture, without the glow...and it looks crud. I'd prefer not to fix this in photoshop.

This is the error that i keep encountering...
Is there anything i can do to make this scene render successfully?

// Error: *Fatal* (mental ray) : mental ray encountered a fatal error. The system may have become unstable. Please save the scene and exit Maya.
