Subjects / Course Structure and Subjects

I had some one ask me the other day what subjects are we meant to enrol in for next year, well heres the website with the specific structure and course codes so that you can enrol in the right things.

This is just really random, got sent it in the AWN emails and if you can handle subtitles and foreign languages its a (dont know if) indepth mathmatical explination of Global illumination in maya...

Fi, we dont need to have facial animation, its a choice to. I am not having any facial stuff and i havent done bland shapes, dont worry. If you get the movement right it wont need it.

Dynamics / Hair dynamics and rendering it.

Ok, had no clue what to put this under but help me anyways :)

My hair is rendering over the top of my polgon model. I have checked, hair can not grow out of her face like this lol.



It looks so funny, but so bad... ok, it rendered the nurbs cap and the hair after the polygon model and this is the result, can anyone help? Its using software rendering and i think i will eventually convert it to something else but i am unsure what that techncially does. so yeah... help?

SuperToon II Body & Face Rigging is not working correctly, the audio comes up but unfortunatly no video. The others seem to work just not this one. Thanks.

I went back and redid the whole thing again.... Yay to completing my rig and i actually worked out what was wrong. Do not set each individual point with the setting preferred angle it ruins any Ik's set and im not sure why i didnt see this earlier but its all fixed now and i even worked out where i went wrong, too bad you cant just undo it if it was done ages ago.

Hages said there is a rig in the maya 2008 unlimited (etc etc) version under Skeleton> Full Body IK > Get FBIK Example ... then you right click and import it into your scene.

I have played around with it and found it rather annoying but it does look kinda cool and easy to play with.

Hope this helps. I am unsure about if we can use it though.

So im onto my next rig because i didnt like the one i did very much but now im having difficulties with the arm IK's , on the right side it doesnt work and elft it does and when i fix the right the left stops working???? Is there a way i could ahve somehow connected them. I am stumped. Please help.

Thank you. I decided to try the whole "do it and see" approach and found my rig fall apart. It was a good experiment but i was very hesidant to do it, rewarding in the end since i was smart enough to save it before i tried.

I did read that in the help but the red lines and dullness of the end effectors had me going for a minute.

I am wondering while having a look in the hypergraph whether if an effector should be deleted if it is no longer being "used" as such. It has the icon next to it saying its not attached but if i delete it will i be deleting something i actually need and causing problems later?...

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
