Games / Re: Games Games Games
« on: April 29, 2007, 04:02:06 PM »
God, I've been playing too many games lately... Really been cutting into study and working, but oh well!

What I've been playing:
  • The Battle for Middle Earth II - PC
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - PC
  • Neverwinter Nights 2 - PC
  • The Movies - PC
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - DS
  • Wii Sports - Wii
  • Titan Quest - PC
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Wii

I've only just completed the main quest of Oblivion and I'm still playing it. God it's a great game.

What I'm waiting for/want:
  • Elite Beat Agents (or something like that) - DS
  • Final Fantasy III - DS
  • Super Mario Galaxy - Wii
  • Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 - Wii
  • Pokemon Diamond/Pearl - DS

There's no way in hell I'll be able to afford all of these, but I'll still wait on it. I really need some decent DS and Wii games, after completing Zelda... Seven days after it was released :'(

Suggestions / Re: The Theatrette situation.

I can't help but to notice that what we've achieved here, is realizing that this apparently IS our problem, yet not our responsibility.
Odd, I tend to think of that as a type of contradiction, but here it makes some kind of horrid sense...

Anyway, someone must have an old mouse lying around, just waiting to get to a new home. Anyone willing to take one for the team?

Reviews / Re: 500Gb Hard Drives- Cheap!

Thanks for that; I already have a 250 GB external hard-drive, but I may pick one up just for study.
Is it just for the one day?

Movies / Re: movies that you would recommend

I've been getting into the Asterix the Gaul films; I can remember watching Asterix Vs. Caesar as a kid, and now seeing a couple of others, well, I suppose it would've been nice if they could've kept the dubbing voice actors kinda consistent (I prefer the Asterix Vs. Caesar voices the most).

The others I've seen were Asterix Conquers America (a dream of the French, I'm sure) and Asterix and the Vikings, which was apparently released last year. They're not perfect, but to someone who grew up with the comics they're worthwhile.

Movies / Re: 300

Aww, I think Tom Hanks is sexy...

Anyway, I loved the film. Sure, it's thrown up some s*** with the Iranians (descendants of the Persians), but what good movie doesn't piss someone off?

In a VFX way, it was a real joy to watch. Just to mention it, and though I'm usually not big on this, but the blood looked awesome, and the immortals had pretty cool costumes (despite, you know, being killed almost instantly). Apparently only one scene was done without the aid of blue/green screen, and that was when the Persians were riding to Sparta at the start (I think...), so that just shows the power that these things can have over setting.

Thanks for this man! I'm sure it's gonna be a help, if not now, then eventually. :D

Web / Re: awesome new stop motion flooding the net

Well, we all know of the Family Guy thing from our lectures, but it will always be awesome. Always.

As for the stop motion: My God that is the greatest thing I've ever seen ever, in a totally over reactionary way!
I wonder how they did the grind...?

Web / Fan Animations

Well, there's alot of them. Lovely animations that crush copyright under their foot and charge out there showing their heroes doing things their fans want them to do.

I'll start this off with something very cool I found linked in a Penny Arcade blog:

**Warning: Big File Size**

Some very cool animation here I thought. I don't know about the ending, but the action is cool. Also, if there's a problem with putting this stuff on the forums admins, please clip me over the ears righteously.

Urg, I think I'm making too many topics... but this forum has to come alive somehow...
