Games / Re: DS LAN
« on: May 05, 2007, 12:12:55 AM »
Yeah, Pokemon's always a joy, and now there's no stupid link-cable to worry about!
Isn't it out in late June? It's just that EB have already got posters up... all around the store.
I'm a fan of the series, but that kinda... makes me uncomfortable.

Oh dear God yes! I've been waiting for this ever since I picked this thing up on launch date.
Also, wouldn't it be good if we posted what games we hand, for the sake of avoiding annoyance later?
The games I have that are Wi-Fi enabled are:
Final Fantasy III
Super Mario DS
...
And that's it. Darn, I thought I had more... :(

Community Projects / Re: Coffee Machine?!
« on: May 04, 2007, 11:57:28 PM »
I suggest, for safety, we cover all the computers and keyboards in gladwarp; while this will make them unuseable, it will protect them from bitter coffee goodness!
...
Unless it's split on the gladwrap while it's steaming, creates condensation, and gets into the computers THAT way...
...
Oooh, you win this time laws of thermodynamics!

In seriousness, I don't drink coffee, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have a beverage on hand in the lab...

A friend of mine studying aeronautical engineering in Sydney is fascinated by this game... must be the physics, I suppose...

Okay, I am a HUGE Lucasarts Adventure game fanatic; especially Monkey Island, my favorite videogame series of all time. Anyone wants to talk about these, please, contact me immediately.

On another topic, I just got Final Fantasy III for the DS, obviously to prepare me for a weekend full of study...
Many Final Fantasy fans here? I can already tell you this is measuring up to be a great game, very retro feeling but still good looking.

I always wanted to play Warhammer, but it just seemed too damned expensive...

(Good Conscience: Yeah, and those videogames were THAT cheap.)

Quiet you! *Sprays with immoral vapors*

Animate (Flash) / Re: Movie and Graphic symbols
« on: May 04, 2007, 10:22:39 PM »
do u have the codec?? cos at the moment i think im gonna convert it to avi but not compress it its the only way it looks decent................. and how the f@ck do i get my symbols to actually move when ive exported it ....... it all plays , bar that ....................im pooing my pants right now...lol

Okay, the codec should be with Flash; it's on mine and I didn't download anything. If it isn't, google it and find it. The way to get the symbols to move after exporting is to change them from movie symbols to graphics symbols; don't ask me why, but it usually works, and in response to your last piece of interest, don't sit down.

God, and this coming from the pessimistic guy...

Television / Re: Star Wars Live-action TV series
« on: May 04, 2007, 10:12:00 PM »
I've been pretty interested in this show from the get go when they announced it maybe a year ago? Maybe longer, I dunno anymore; All I know is that it sounds promising.
I've read a couple of Star Wars books, and though I really didn't like some authors' (such as Terry Brooks, an otherwise great author) views on the universe, I've gotta say I've enjoyed what I've seen of the extended universe.
I just hope it isn't a wookie-fest...

I agree with this, but how to go about it? I doubt the crappy recorder on my Mp3 player is gonna do much - it barely even records my voice. Are there any things we should keep in mind about this, anything in particular we should use, avoid, ect?

Whinges / Re: Flash

Yes, yes, gay is fascinating to read, truly.
But back onto the topic at hand, why isn't our Flash working? Does anyone have a reason behind this, or shall we forever be whingers?

For Sale / Re: Bar Fridge - brand new :-D
« on: May 03, 2007, 08:03:31 PM »
Okay, I'd probably prefer talking about this in person, but I'm interested. If you can post a pic and maybe whatever price you're looking for up here, it'll be a help.

I don't know what my budget is; it'll probably be enough though (hopefully)

Ah, Chasers. The proof that the existence of a video camera CAN give you permission to be a disruptive arsehole.

Dear God I love it...

Someone on the network with it?
Are you on South Campus, because our network up on main seems rather devoid of anything half-decent.
As for Heroes, again I don't get what the big deal is...

Well, despite your lack of interest, it seems there's someone on campus with it shared, but I, as a law abiding citizen am of course not transferring it over right at this second with only 2 minutes more to go.

Because that'd be wrong.  :-X

Course Feedback / Re: Thanks
« on: May 02, 2007, 10:21:52 PM »
As much as I feel as this is currying favor, I've gotta agree.

While I've only worked in 2D in the past, it's given me a chance to really see what I can do for it, and try some traditional stuff that I felt was impossible for me. While that's not proven horribly far from the mark (:)), I do appreciate this first taste of the next two and a half years.

Cheers!
