Holy crap! I'd been trying to remember the name of the band for ages (wanted to see the Happiness video again, which is sadly not anywhere to be found). Nostalgia is brilliance.

There was a huge outcry in the Oldboy IMDB forums post-Virginia Tech. Heaps of trolls and whatnot went and trashed the place. Anyway, people should watch this film! It's pretty much made me look for the other movies in the trilogy. Plus, for the uber geeks out there, this particular movie was based on a manga series of the same name and as such, retains a very graphic novel aesthetic.

A South Korean revenge flick I've heard heaps about. It's on right now (began at 10:30) and is going to end in an hour, but I reckon it's still worth catching what you can of it - visual feast with some pretty nifty effects. After all, it is a revenge film.

Here's a blurb from YourTV.com:

Quote from: YourTV.com
Oh Dae-su is kidnapped and later wakes up in a dingy hotel room. He spends the next 15 years there with a TV. He asks himself what made a man hate him enough to imprison him for that long. He watches the news and hears that his wife was brutally murdered and he was framed for that crime. Fifteen years have passed and Dae-su is released. An unknown man calls Dae-su and asks him to figure out why he was imprisoned. He wanders into a sushi bar and is taken home by a waitress, Mido. Oh Dae-su tracks down Lee Woo-jin who kidnapped and imprisoned him. Lee Woo-jin gives him five days to solve the mystery of why.

Just thought I'd post links to some of the Halo 3 adverts going around because they're pretty slick and sophisticated. It's a fairly atypical style when you think about how game commercials are done nowadays.

CSU General / Re: Symposia Aftermath

Even though I'd planned to go both days, my mismanagement of time unfortunately prevented me from actually attending the first.  The second day was extremely well worth it though and I must say that it really inspired me to start doing personal projects again - something I have hardly done in the last year for lack of enthusiasm on my part.  Emile and Morton's works were especially attention grabbing, and as I've been interested in motion graphics and design for a while now, it was only appropriate that I found them so.  I'm still gobsmacked by how Morton's year nine works inspired what became the Extra commercials!

The way many of them presented themselves in turn made their talks particularly encouraging.  I definitely found this year's Symposia much better than the previous one.

Mine's at http://ungco.deviantart.com, but it hasn't been updated in quite a while and I actually want to purge most (if not all) of the works up there and start anew.

And NICELY DONE Chris! Envy is assured haha.

Yeah, congratulations Zam! It's not self-promotion if it's for the greater good, haha. ;D Anyway, too bad my internet isn't working at the moment, otherwise I'd have checked it out... be sure to see it later.

Question: how on earth did you manage to wrangle such a contract?

Mac / Apple's New iMac
« on: August 09, 2007, 11:43:13 PM »
Trawling around the internet today (namely, IGN) and it seems that Apple have just released a new iMac. I must say the new design didn't immediately grab me, but I am definitely warming to it - I really do want one.
